KINGS 6 / BLUE JACKETS 0;Kings jump on Blue Jackets early in romp
Wed March 10, 2010 10:30 am
At least the Blue
Jackets didn't keep their fans up
all night this time only to blow another third-period lead.
No, the outcome was delivered so quickly, so decisively, writers
for Jay Leno could have penciled in Blue Jacket gags in time for
his monologue. There was rich material to be mined from this odious
performance.
The Los Angeles Kings scored four times in the first 16 minutes
last night on the way to 6-0 victory in the Staples Center.

Wed March 10, 2010 10:30 am
The
Blackhawks have finally arrived. We
know this because Hawks fans booed goalie Cristobal Huet during a
5-4 loss Sunday to Detroit and afterward lamented the sorry state
of goaltending in this miserable hellhole of a town they call
home.
OK, so they were depressed.

Wed March 10, 2010 10:30 am
Count Blue
Jackets general manager Scott Howson
among those who want to eliminate blows to the head of unsuspecting
players.
The subject of hits to the head is the major issue being debated
at the NHL general managers meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. The
challenge for GMs is to keep players safe without taking hard,
legal hits out of the game.

Kulemin scores in overtime as Maple Leafs defeat Bruins 4-3
Wed March 10, 2010 4:32 am
TORONTO - Luca Caputi's big homecoming had to share the
spotlight with Nikolai Kulemin's overtime heroics.
Kulemin scored 4:10 into overtime, lifting the
Toronto
Maple
Leafs to a 4-3 win over the Boston
Bruins on Tuesday. While Kulemin was the hero with the game-winner,
it was also a big night for Caputi. The young forward from Toronto
scored in his first home game as a Leaf after being acquired at
last week's trade deadline from Pittsburgh for Alexei
Ponikarovsky.
Toronto coach Ron Wilson sent Caputi out on left wing for the
game's opening faceoff, giving the 21-year-old who grew up rooting
for the Leafs a unique moment in front of family and friends in
attendance.
